Abstract

In this study we compared ihe testicular volume and volume differences between healthy adolescents and healthy asymptomatic adolescents with clinically palpable (Grade 2 and Grade 3) varicoceles using scrotal ultrasound. The sample included 38 healthy adolescenis 11-19 years old (13.7842.25) and 31 adolescent with left clinically palpabiy varicocele 11-19 years old (14.7741.99). Mean right and left testicular volume in healthy adolescenis and varicocele group were 7.1244.71, 7.23t4.75; 10.6445.03, 9.7744.59 cm3 respectively. There were statistically significant volume differences between left testicular volume of healthy adolescents and varicocele group (pz0.017). Although volume difference between right and left testicular volume in healthy adolescents group was nof significani (p0.641), same values in varicocele group were statisticalIy significant (p20.014).
