Abstract

Abstract

There are three main types of sexual dysfunction in men. These are erectile dysfunction, libido and ejaculation problems. Among these, premature ejaculation (PE) is the most common sexual dysfunction. PE can cause a series of problems both for the patient and his sexual partner. To date, various definitions have been proposed for PE. Most recent definition has been made by International Society for Sexual Medicine (ISSM). Many various treatment alternatives (with and without medication) have been tested for the treatment of PE patients. The controversy over the definition of PE is also an indicator for the absence of an indisputable treatment. The novel definition of PE and the place of dapoxetine in current treatment were summarized in this review.
