Abstract

Abstract

Introduction: In recent years, retroperitoneal lymph node dissection (RPLND), which is an invasive

procedure, can be performed through retroperitoneal laparoscopic approach as a result of developments in the

urological laparoscopic procedures. Retroperitoneal laparoscopic lymphadenectomy was performed in a

patient with stage IIB nonseminomatous germ cell tumor in our clinic. The duration of the operation was

about 150 minutes and 10 lymph nodes were dissected. Negative malignity was reported in all of the lymph

nodes. The patient was discharged at postoperative 48th hour without any complications. To our knowledge,

this case was the first RPLND in Turkey operated by retroperitoneal laparoscopic approach.
