Abstract

Abstract

Introduction: Megacalycosis or Puigvert's disease is a rarely seen congenital anomaly of renal development

characterized by caliceal dilatation, increased number of calyces, hypoplasia of the pyramids of Malpighi, and

a normal renal pelvis. Renal function is always normal and there is no evidence of obstruction to urinary flow.

In the absence of complications, the disease is discovered incidentally in the course of urologic examination

undertaken for a different reason. In this study, we discussed the clinical features of two cases with

megacalycosis with the relevant literature.
