NEPHROVESICAL SUBCUTANEUS STENT IN URETHERAL OBSTRUCTION DUE TO ABDOMINOPELVIC TUMOR: A CASE REPORT

Introduction: Abdominopelvic malignancies can cause ureteral obstruction. Since indwelling ureteral catheters are usually not sufficient enough to drainage the kidneys in these patients, percutaneous nephrostomy tubes are usually indicated. Percutaneus nephrostomy tubes deteriorate quality of life and have many complications. Although they are very expensive, nephrovesical subcutaneous stents can be used to by-pass the obstruction. Herein we report a 70 years old patient with bilateral ureteral obstruction due to abdominopelvic malignancy. Since indwelling ureteral catheters failed due to complete obstruction and he refused the percutaneous nephrostomy tubes, he was treated with bilateral subcutaneus nephrovesical stent. He died from tumor at the 6 months without any complications related to the nephrovesical subcutaneous stent.
