83% of urethral diverticula in men are acquired. Urethral diverticula usually cause urinary incontinence and the treatment is surgery. Our subject who had urinary incontinence has used an indwelling catheter for a long time due to meningomyelocele. An urethral diverticulum has developed and got bigger through the time since the indwelling catheter was removed because of an accidental procedure. The patient has remained dry due to the function of the diverticulum like a reservoir.
